SUMMARY: A Maintenance, Warehouse, Driver, Goods/Materials will safely perform basic maintenance/repairs on kitchen equipment, perform general warehouse duties such as stocking and retrieving package and bulk containers and general cleaning and operate school vehicles to deliver goods and materials The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo and/or the district may identify other responsibilities of the position. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: These statements are intended to describe the responsibilities assigned to this position and are not intended to represent an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.

  1. Performs basic maintenance and repairs on kitchen equipment and kitchens.

  2. Receives deliveries to include food, supplies and equipment

  3. Delivers, loads and unloads products, food and/or equipment as requested.

  4. May store or install delivered items.

  5. Drives a school vehicle to transport food, goods and materials.

  6. Maintains a driver’s log and presents billing forms to designated representatives.

  7. Collects receipts and follows all Sodexo and client policies as well as those of all regulatory agencies.

  8. Makes minor repairs to vehicle(s) to keep them in good working order.

  9. Oversees the appearance, operation, maintenance and servicing of the vehicle.

  10. May serve as a courier, delivering packages, documents and mail.

  11. Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.

  12. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  13. Complies with all Sodexo/district safety and risk management policies and procedures.

  14. Complies with all USDA, Federal, State and NSLP guidelines and regulations.

  15. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

  16. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.

  17. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.

  18. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.

  2. 0-2 years of transportation related work experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:   Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential. Ability to maintain a positive attitude. Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect. Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives. Ability to use a computer. Basic food-handling skills. 

LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS:  

  1. Valid state driver’s license.

  2. May require commercial license, depending on vehicle type and/or state law.

Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
