Instructional Coach Job Description

The Instructional Coaching assignment in Alpine School District is designed to support teachers, teams, and administration at a school level. An Instructional Coach works with the principal and school teams to research, learn, and plan in order to facilitate high levels of student learning in Tier 1 instruction. The Instructional Coach will work consistently with teams to analyze student data, design instruction, and set goals for student learning. Based on grade-level student-centered goals, the Instructional Coach will work daily with teachers during Tier 1 instruction, to deliver effective instruction based on the learning goals. This position requires leadership skills in working with adults. Approximately 70-80% of the coach’s time will be spent focusing on Tier 1 instruction. Additionally, 10-15% will be utilized supporting new teachers. Then 12-15% of the time will be spent planning professional development, administrative meetings and organizing Acadience testing. Finally, coaches will attend weekly district coaching meetings (3%).
