Position Overview The Regional Manager of Literacy Curriculum, Assessment and Data is the primary driver of high-quality, aligned literacy curriculum and assessments as well as effective literacy data use across KIPP Nashville schools. The Regional Manager of Literacy will work with curriculum leads at schools, Assistant Principals, and School Leaders to project manage the development, vetting, and/or selection of high quality literacy curriculum and assessment. He/she will also develop curriculum and assessment calendars and lead effective rollouts across schools to ensure effective implementation for both teachers and leaders. In addition, the Regional Manager of Literacy will be responsible for leading analysis of KIPP Nashville schools’ literacy data, including formative and summative assessment data, in order to provide analysis and coaching to schools on strengths and areas for growth and inform action planning. This position will be housed within KIPP Nashville’s regional School Support Team (SST) and will report directly to the Chief Academic Officer. Responsibilities of the Regional Manager of Literacy Curriculum, Assessment and Data include, but are not limited to: Data Driven Instruction Drive K-12 literacy assessment cycles at the regional level including establishing timelines, communicating school scheduling and instructional goals, and providing School Leader or Assistant Principal support in scoring/norming. Vet assessments, author assessments, and/or project manage teams of assessment writers (internal and external) for K-12 literacy foundational, formative, and quarterly benchmark assessments. Create network and school level data reports and data responsive materials to analyze and address foundational, formative, and quarterly benchmark assessments in grades K-12. Curriculum and Instruction Support annual strategic planning for curriculum including managing action steps, owners, and timelines and ensuring implementation. Drive K-12 regional curriculum roll-out cycles including establishing timelines, providing feedback on curriculum roll-out meeting plans, and execution of the curriculum roll-out meetings. Drive K-12 curriculum meeting and planning structures, including internalization templates, schedules and protocols. Research latest curriculum and assessments and integrate best practices into KIPP Nashville curriculum and assessments Professional Development Coordinate shared learning opportunities for Curriculum Leads across campuses. Participate in Assistant Principal and School Leader cohort meetings as relevant to Curriculum, Assessment and Data. As needed, write and deliver high-quality, highest lever PD that addresses regional curriculum, assessment, and data needs. Logistic and Team Management Manage yearly literacy assessment calendars and scope and sequences for the region. Work collaboratively with the Operations Team to action plan instructional technology needs and communicate to Dean of Operations/School Leaders. Send a monthly email to Curriculum Leads, Assistant Principals, and School Leaders regarding key upcoming curriculum, instruction, and assessment events. Communicate important curriculum, instruction, and assessment dates, deadlines, and revisions to principals and Dean of Operations. Grow KIPP Nashville curriculum, assessment and data use strength through data analysis meetings, professional development, and product revisions feedback.
