CTE Broadcasting and Digital Photography
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Career and Technical Education (Level 1), Career and Technical Education (Level 2), Career and Technical Education (Level 3), Career and Technical Education (ARL), Secondary Education (6-12) (Level 1), Secondary Education (6-12) (Level 2), Secondary Education (6-12) (Level 3), Secondary Education (6-12) (ARL).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: CTE (General), Technology Education (Industrial Arts).
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
To provide instruction to high school students in television/video production, daily announcements, digital audio, and exploring computer science. The position also requires working with the fine arts and athletics department(s) as needed for videos, news stories, etc.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Follow all legal and ethical principles relevant to broadcast media • Teach students how to gather information using journalistic research, interviews, and news judgment • Teach students the principles, procedures, and techniques of television/video production and digital audio • Develop student understanding of the principles, elements, tools, and techniques of television/video production and digital audio • Create, monitor, and maintain content for the LEA YouTube channel as well as postings and livestream events • Advise and mentor students on how to work collaboratively with others in the school and community • Coordinate writing, filming, editing, proofreading, and broadcast production activities • Develop student understanding of computer and technical sciences used in daily life as outlined within the strands and standards set forth by the Utah State Office of Education • Maintain and respect all confidential information • Teach knowledge and skills in the area/field of assignment in accordance with the LEA curriculum and standards set by the Utah State Board of Education Career and Technical Education • Promote critical and creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized student and small group student learning • Adhere to all policies of the LEA and the Code of Ethics for Utah Educators • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the building administrators and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient with video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro • Proficient with Mac computers and essential software • Knowledgeable with cameras and photography • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Google, etc. • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed • Ability to organize and coordinate multiple work assignments • Ability to communicated effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
