Teacher of the Deaf-Blind - Utah County
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Preschool Special Education (Birth - age 5) (Level 1), Preschool Special Education (Birth - age 5) (Level 2), Preschool Special Education (Birth - age 5) (Level 3), Preschool Special Education (Birth - age 5) (ARL), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).
Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and diverse employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Teacher of the Deaf-Blind located in Utah County and surrounding areas.
Principal Duties As a Teacher of the Deaf-Blind you will: Provide outreach services to students who are deaf-blind in the state of Utah. Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan learning experiences for young children and students who are deaf-blind, ages birth-22, based on State Standards. Develop IEP or IFSP goals and objectives, based on assessment, to meet the specific deaf-blind needs of children and students. Provide support and strategies to create an environment that is conducive to learning, while meeting the needs of a student who is deaf-blind. Consults with and provides training and technical assistance to those involved in the education of young children and students who are deaf-blind, including classroom teachers and staff, related service providers, and other school and district personnel . Participation in training activities to help others see and understand the impacts of deaf-blindness for children and youth. Recruit, hire, and supervise Interveners. Participate in various family education and support activities.
