Job Expectations:

  • Specifically for this position, duties include:

  • Plan and deliver reading and writing instruction to Tier II and III K-4 students
  • Assist other staff in planning and delivering intervention using the principles and guidelines of RTI
  • Train staff, organize, and administer assessments to students, including the management and use of the data
  • Communicate and collaborate with grade level teams and build-level and district-level PLC's to advance student learning
  • Provide PD to staff at both the building and system wide levels in areas related to literacy assessment, instruction, and intervention
  Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and Tennessee teaching license with 075 or 486 endorsement or the ability to acquire the necessary endorsement within a year or less
  • Teaching experience preferred
  • Additional training consistent with a balanced literacy philosophy is highly desirable (e.g., Reading Recovery, Literacy Lessons, Literacy Collaborative)
  • Experience with the administration and use of a text level assessment preferred (e.g., F&P BAS, DRA, OS)
  • Previous experience providing staff development and coaching an asset
