Description

Occupational Therapist Job Description

Duchesne County School District (DCSD) is hiring a full time Occupational Therapist. The position is a nine-month position correlating with the district school year calendar. The Occupational Therapist will develop Individual Education Plans (IEP), provide occupational therapy assessments and treatment to students with disabilities under the direction of UBMC and DCSD Special Ed Director.

Responsibilities and Duties: ? Administers occupational therapy assessments to determine a student’s level of functioning relative to their age and educational placement. Areas of function that might be addressed in a school setting could include fine motor, visual perceptual, oral motor, sensory integration and/or self help skills. ? Writes assessment reports identifying the student’s needs and proposed treatment strategies; writes individual student goals and objectives as part of the IEP; maintains progress records; participates in the IEP meeting. ? Develops occupational therapy treatment plans based on the educational goals for eligible students, to minimize the effects of the student’s disabling condition on his/her ability to participate in the general educational program. ? Provides occupational therapy services to students with disabilities ages 3-22, in one on one and group settings, as identified through the IEP/504 plan, to students enrolled in the educational programs. ? Coordinate occupational services and consult with IEP teams to provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities. ? Supervise and verify motor development services provided by aides throughout the district.
