District Network Specialist/IT Support
South Summit School District is seeking applicants for a year round; full-time Network Specialist/IT support. The position will be 40 hours per week with full benefits. Salary will be based on the 2021-2022 Classified Salary Schedule and will receive 100% paid family medical benefits, dental, retirement/pension, life insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.
Qualified applicants The following qualifications and duties may include, but are not limited to: • Supports the use of the internet and its related applications within the school district. • Performs the functions of a technology help desk resource for staff and faculty. • Supports IT Director in troubleshooting and resolving network issues in a timely manner via Internet communication technology, telephone and/or in person. • Responsible for maintaining and supporting the school district network including routers, switches, firewalls, websites and all hardware and software within the school district. • Assist staff with PC/Mac computer issues.
Required qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalency in computer networking, telecommunications, computer information systems, or computer science with related work experience, strong communication/customer support skills, network certification or equivalent knowledge with routers, servers and switches (H.P., Juniper, Mist API), detailed knowledge of wired and wireless network connectivity troubleshooting with LANs and WANs, and detailed knowledge of network design and security. Preference will be given to candidates with a current Networking Certification, CompTIA Network+, and a Bachelor’s degree. Start date June 14, 2021.
