Director of Special Education
Must hold a certificate issued by Oklahoma State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Administrator, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Controller/Comptroller, Deputy Superintendent, Director – Curriculum/Instructional Services, Director – Education, Director – Equity/Employee Relations, Director – Human Resources, Director – Information Systems, Director – Personnel, Director – Professional Development, Director – Special Education, Director – Technology, Specialist, Superintendent.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The certificate status must be active.
Newcastle Public Schools is currently seeking qualified applicants for the Director of Special Education position. The Director of Special Education is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating services for students with disabilities, consistent with state and federal mandates and the district's principle that all children can learn. The Director must demonstrate leadership skills and will be responsible for collaborating with site administration in the supervision of all Special Services certified and support staff. Additionally, the Director must be able to ensure compliance with IDEA/504, federal and state laws, and the NPS Board of Education Policies.
