Special Education Teacher
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active.
Come live and work by the Chesapeake Bay! Lancaster County Public Schools in Virginia is looking for a special education teacher to work at Lancaster Public Schoosl. We have a signing bonus of $7500. We are located less than an hour from Williamsburg, VA and about a little over an hour to Richmond, VA. We are a wonderful county with several beautiful little towns, including Kilmarnock.
1 - Prepares written communications relating to general & specialized work of the department. 2 - Plans instruction to achieve learning objectives that reflect current division & state curriculum standards. 3 - Uses materials & resources that are compatible with student's needs & abilities & which support the approved curriculum. 4 - Links present contend wtih past & future learning experiences, other subj ect areas & real world experiences/applications. 5 - uses researched Based instructional strategies that promote student learning. 6 - Recognizes individual learning differnces & differentiates instuction to meet student needs. 7 - Provides a variety of ongoing & culminating assessments to measure student performance. 8 - Provides on-going & timely feedback to encourage student progress. 9 - uses student performance data in instructional planning and decision making. 10 - Adheres to appropriate scoring & grading procedures & policies. 11 - Maximizes the use of instructional time to increase student learning. 12 - Manages/maintains behavior that promotes learning. 13 - Organizes the classroom to ensure an environment that is safe 7 conductive to learning. 14. Communicates effectively & appropriatedly with students. 15 - Works collaboratively with staff, families & community agencies to support student success. 16 - Initiates & maintains timely communication with parents/guardians & administrators concerning student progress or problems. 17 - Demonstrates professional, moral & ethical behavior & exhibits personal integrity in all interactions. 18 - Participates in an ongoing process of professional development. 19 - Provides service to the profession, the school, the school division & the community. 20 - Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
