Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coaching Position

 

Job Summary

 

The Varsity Head Coach is responsible for organizing and overseeing all aspects of the Girls Basketball program. This includes all levels of the program (Varsity, JV, and Sophomore). 

 

Essential Duties

 
  • Mentoring student-athletes at Orem High School

  • Supervision of athletes during practices, games, and other team functions

  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, and strategies of the game of basketball

  • Model proper sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward players, officials, spectators, and parents. 

  • Construct a non-region games schedule each season

  • Complete the requirements for Register My Coach and ensure all staff members are complete and certified

  • Follow Alpine School District policies for employees and specifically P.A.C.E 

  • Manage those trying out and those who make the team on Register My Athlete

  • Work with Athletic Director to manage the Girls Basketball budget 

  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury

  • Communicate with parents 

  • Maintains uniforms and equipment in an orderly condition

  • Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to student-athletes and provide an inventory list to the Athletic Director

  • Models non discriminatory practices in all activities

 

Other Duties

  • Attend required meetings (OHS coaching staff and Region Meetings)

  • Complete UHSAA yearly certification requirements

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Administrator
