Educator for the Blind/Visually Impaired
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as a Lower Elementary Educator for the Blind/Visually Impaired located in Springville.
Principal Duties: As an Educator you will: Perform the duties of a classroom Instructor for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, Blind/Visually Impaired (B/VI) division Provide appropriate programming for blind/visually impaired students, three to five years of age Prepare and write lesson plans for each student Generate information/reports on children as appropriate Follow appropriate curriculums, as provided Advise and teach parents in the area of blindness/visual impairment Assist parents in embedding activities within the child’s everyday routines with regular home visits and/or Parent Workshops Provide and maintain equipment/materials Take a collaborative role at staffing meetings, IEP meetings, student transitions, and aid in IEP success through appropriate assessments, including assessment of vision functioning, goal development, and follow-through of the IEP Attend training sessions and workshops as assigned by program administrators Be involved with training colleagues in skill development programming Coordinate with B/VI supervisor and program director Performs other duties as assigned.
