Facilities Management Supervisor Job Description
Job Title: Facilities Management Supervisor
Credentials: Current Oklahoma driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Training or experience required: 5-10 years of experience as a supervisor in
transportation, maintenance, school operations or related experience.
Site: Central Services
Reports to: Assistant Director of Facilities Management
Contract: 260 Days
Salary Schedule: Off-Scale Support
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Essential Job Functions:
Oversee the day-to-day operations/work orders of all trades. Update all sites/directors with a progress report on W/O daily.
Help source parts, rental equip any item for day-to-day, etc.
Have a good understanding of the rules that we follow in purchasing guide lines set by the State of OKLA and dist.
Keep all AHEAR books records, update and current with all DOL laws.
Work on monitoring air quality for all sites, see that items we use in spaces are below any State or Occupational Health standards. Carpet, VCT, Paint.
Hold quarterly safety meetings with all trades and monthly safety memos.
Keep up with scheduling HVAC controls as needed.
Perform supervisory duties under minimal supervision to assist the Assistant Director of Facilities Management with the physical day-to-day maintenance operation of the Norman Public School District.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or that will assist the Assistant Director of Facilities Management and/or Director of Facilities Management.
The Supervisor is required to be both inside and outside during all types of weather. There are some risks attached to supervision of staff in their particular job assignment (boiler room, asbestos inspection, etc.). In addition, the Assistant Director is required to be on call and report in case of emergency.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
For successful performance of the job, it is critical that customer service/people skills are present. The Supervisor should have a strong commitment to safety guidelines and policies and clear direction for department employees as well as a commitment to enforce district standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns.
Ability to read and interpret complex written or printed materials such as schematics, blueprints, or building plans, contracts, regulations. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving is critical to the success of the position.
