Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a visionary and dynamic individual to fill the position of School Counselor located in Salt Lake City, UT.

This is a full time teacher contract position for 183 days.

Principal Duties As a School Counselor you will: Provide counseling and related services for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing with the possibility of multiple disabilities. Determine nature and degree of problems, evaluate students and provide solutions. Provide training to teachers and staff to deal with behavior problems of students. Participate in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). Provide social skills training to students, counsel with students on individual or group basis, document student progress, compile case histories, and prepare other related reports.
