Qualifications:
A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit school employment
Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
Self-directed, congenial disposition, and strong diplomacy skills
Successful completion child care training as provided by the center director is required as a condition of employment
Essential Functions:
The following are typical work responsibilities. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
BUS:
·Ride on the school bus with the bus driver during student pick-up and/or drop-off
·Assist students while boarding and unloading the bus, including help with safety harnesses and other procedures
·Monitor students during the duration of the bus route to ensure student safety
·Take appropriate precautions to ensure safety
·Communicate to center director any persistent concerns with student transportation
RECESS:
·Monitor students during lunch and recess periods to ensure student safety. Promotes safe play and monitors child interactions to ensure all students are appropriately supervised and cared for
·Communicate with classroom teachers and center director student needs, concerns, injuries or other important information requiring attention. Documents all incidents as required by program policies and law
OTHER:
·Participate in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities as directed
·Wear work attire appropriate for student interactions and season of the year
·Able to sit/stand/navigate stairs as needed while assisting students
·Perform other specific job-related duties as directed
·Bilingual English and Spanish preferred
