Elementary School Counselor
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in School Counselor (K-12) (Level 1).
The primary duty of an elementary school counselor is to ensure that students have access to the resources necessary for academic and social development. Elementary school counselors work with teachers and parents to make sure that developmentally challenged students have the proper tools and guidance to effectively learn within their skill sets.
The school counselor will support the school’s mission and collaborate with individuals and organizations to promote all students’ academic and personal/social development. This position will encompass much of the standard areas of Utah's Comprehensive Counseling & Guidance Program model, but will go above and beyond, which might include non-traditional duties, e.g., test coordination, educational field trips, after-school homework administration, etc. etc. etc. To meet the needs of our unique demographic.
