Technical Theatre Teacher
Must hold a certificate issued by Florida Department of Education.
Full time technical director position available. Experience in the trades, construction, and/or the industrial arts is preferred. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, or certification in the trades. The position is responsible for designing and building sets, programming lights, engineering sound, and other technical components of production and design associated with the performing arts. The position will also instruct four classes in the fields listed above, ranging from introductory to advanced. The position requires the ability to generate build/load schedules to meet the time lines and technical demands of a vigorous performing arts school. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the use of most tools, have an ability to operate machinery, and be comfortable with heights. The job requires understand of and ability to work in multiple venues. IRCHS has three primary performance venues: The Blackbox Theatre (a 40 seat standard blackbox), The Charter Dome (a versatile outdoor venue with a seating capacity of up to 300), and The Charter Hall (a multi-purpose room with a seating capacity of 400). The position requires a flexible schedule, a willingness to work with and/or learn lighting and sound software, the ability to collaborate with other artists, and a willingness to teach high school students.
