1. Perform teacher duties in absence of the teacher, including, but not limited to following lesson plans, and leading other staff in the classroom. 2. Create and implement developmentally appropriate extended day lesson plans for assigned students. 3. Assist teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans. 4. Implement individual goals and objectives pursuant to Teacher directions. 5. Set up camp and extended day classroom consistent with developmentally appropriate practices for specific age levels. 6. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques. 7. Assist in developing and implementing individual behavior plans as needed. 8. Assist in planning and developing instructional materials and equipment, including enrichment materials for each unit, so that maximum use may be made of resources. 9. Ensure and provide basic care giving duties (utilizing universal health and safety precautions) for children, including, but not limited to changing diapers, feeding children, and cleaning children’s hands, faces, etc. 10. Ensure and carry out daily/weekly housekeeping chores for the classrooms, including, but not limited to sweeping floors after meals and activities, wiping tables and counters, cleaning changing tables, placing trash in appropriate containers, and washing, sterilizing and putting away equipment (toys, laundry and dishes). 11. Assist in the communication with therapists and other special service agencies, and incorporate therapy and other special requirements into class activities. 12. Maintain positive staff and parent interactions. 13. Provide weekly progress notes for each child. 14. Ensure Teacher and/or Extended Day Coordinator are informed of all parent and staff concerns and complaints. 15. Ensure concerns with individual students are brought to the attention of the Teacher and/or Extended Day Coordinator. 16. Participate in required number of meetings with classroom team, including therapists, teacher assistants and teacher. 17. Supervise assigned teacher assistants during camp/extended day in the absence of the teacher by: a. Ensure awareness and compliance of policies and procedures; b. Monitor performance on an ongoing basis; c. Assist teacher with implementing progressive discipline when needed; d. Train new employees on classroom procedures; and e. Train employees on the individual needs of the students. 18. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, selecting and pre screening of new employees as requested. 19. Utilize UCP lesson plan format to create and implement weekly lesson plans for camp/extended day, provide to the Extended Day Coordinator and post in the classroom on a weekly basis. 20. Assist with tracking student progress of individual goals. 21. Ensure compliance with requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPPA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies. 22. Perform other duties as assigned.
