Description
South Summit School District is seeking a part-time Art Teacher who is a talented, out-of-the-box thinker for our blended learning secondary school grade 6-12; Silver Summit Academy. An effective blended learning model requires teachers who are independent, extremely creative, and technologically savvy and enjoy applying their talents in a high-impact and fast-paced learning environment. Preference will be given to CTE certification or a willingness to seek further certification.
Salary will be based on the 2020-2021 Licensed Salary Schedule and will receive no benefits. Qualified candidates must have a current Utah Secondary Teaching License and meet the following criteria:
Curriculum Researcher & Designer • Work without guidance to create new approaches to personalized learning experiences for students. • Test and evaluate non-traditional instructional methods. • Adapt instructional practices quickly and fluidly to pilot new ideas. • Effectively uses technology in instruction and assessment. Curriculum Expert & Integrator • Determines best-fit instructional methods and blends online and in school activities. • Possesses a deep and broad core content expertise. • Uses data to differentiate student-learning pathways for groups or individuals. • Develop creative instructional methods both online and face-to-face • Integrate technology to create cross-curricular lessons when possible. Instructional facilitator & guide • Focuses on facilitating student learning rather than delivering knowledge. • Manages classrooms where students are working on different activities or learning pathways. • Chooses and adapts appropriate, differentiated curriculum for group and/or individual learning. • Develop effective and appropriate relationships with students as mentor and academic advisor.
