Parapro - TSW(20/21SY)
DEFINITION: Under close supervision, works directly with the TSW technicians to provide interventions for students who require additional time and alternative strategies in reading, writing and math.

Tutors individual and small groups of students to reinforce and support learning activities; assists in the development of a variety of Transition School to Work materials; runs copies and laminations for TSW technicians; delivers supplies to classrooms; grades classwork; monitors and assists students in learning activities such as guided practice, repetition, and assessment; meets and collaborates regularly with other TSW Staff.
Oversees and supervises students during TSW activities, PAES labs, field trips, and internships on campus, maintains a log of daily TSW activities directly related to student achievement; monitors testing; demonstrates good oral and written communication; attends appropriate trainings as required; willing to be cross-trained in other content and skill capacities as necessary; performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of District policies and procedures
Knowledge of developmental, physical and mental delays and disorders
Knowledge of special education or special needs accommodations
Knowledge of standards for special education.
Knowledge of student learning and behavior characteristics
Knowledge of general purposes and goals of intervention programs.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of diversity in the student body, teaching Job staff and parent groups
Skill in the use of personal computer and related software.
Skill in routine record keeping.
Skill in monitoring and assisting students
Skill in effective verbal and written communication
Skill in following oral and written instructions
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Fingerprint clearance is required
One (1) year of classroom experience preferably with children, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
Salary Grade: 5 Hourly Pay: $12.15 Hours per Day: 6.0 Days: 189 Start Date: 2020/2021 School Year
