Special Education Department Teacher Specialist 2021-22 School Year full-time
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The Special Education Department has an opening for a Teacher Specialist who will have responsibility to work with elementary schools in facilitating compliance with IDEA requirements and supporting effective classroom management and instruction.
Position requires a special education license and successful classroom teaching experience. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of teaching experience (or related field) and Professional license. Candidates must have demonstrated competence in planning, developing and delivering professional development for adult learners. Teaming and interpersonal communication skills are critical in order to support and serve as a resource for parents, school staff and building administrators. Individual must have demonstrated competence implementing IDEA File Compliance effective practices for classroom/behavior management, curriculum and instruction, coaching and ongoing progress monitoring procedures. Strong technology skills needed.
