Instructional Support
Description
POSITION: ESL Aide ~ UHS
APPLICANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
(19.5 HOURS/WEEK)
District Expectations:
- Demonstrate the ability to instruct Limited Language students effectively
- Demonstrate the ability to modify instruction to help students become competent in the area(s) of weakness
- Work cooperatively with all staff to ensure a comfortable and pleasant working environment that will be conducive to learning and will encourage safety and good relationships
- Demonstrate the ability to (and will) relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community
- Maintain professional competencies through continued learning
- Assist with data collection and data entry
- Computer skill and familiarity with online learning programs
- Other duties assigned by supervisor
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Utah Elementary Teacher Certificate and Spanish speaking preferred but not mandatory
- Must hold Associate’s degree or have 48 semester hours of college credit OR must have passed or be willing to pass the ParaPro test immediately upon hire
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- A minimum of three letters of recommendation, including at least one from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor), which address your skills at working effectively with students, parents, staff and community members
- Copies of college transcripts (if applicable).
