This position is accountable for performing a wide variety of responsible, diverse, and complex administrative duties required by the School Board.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Serves as administrative support to Board members requiring clerical assistance in the performance of their office, facilitates in-service training for Board members, locates and disseminates information pertinent to Board duties, and makes meeting registration and travel arrangements for Board members as required by their office. -Keeps an accurate and permanent record of the proceedings of the Board and posts minutes of meetings. -Schedules regular and special meetings of the Board and prepares, together with the Superintendent and Chair of the Board, an agenda setting forth all known items of business to be considered at the meeting as well as information and memos delineating the substance of agenda items. -Disseminates all information regarding Board meetings to Board members, schools, administrators and other interested citizens in a timely manner and in accordance with state law. -Orders supplies, subscriptions, and memberships as required by the Board -Writes notes, letters and memos as required by the Board. -Advises the Superintendent immediately of the existence of any problems deemed to warrant prompt attention or intervention. -Attends school and community meetings, workshops and conferences as determined by the Board. -Promotes effective public relations through telephone and written communications with citizens. -Performs special assignments and other duties as determined by the Board. -Process confidential material in an appropriate manner, including preparing, processing, filing securely, and maintaining the confidentiality of those materials at all times. -Maintains appointment calendar, receives and opens mail, assembles related file material then submits to superintendent for action. -Attends Board meetings and serve as the clerk of the board. -Models the WJCC Strategic Plan Values: Individualism, Integrity, Innovation, Accountability and Collaboration.
