Pre-Engineering SHS 11/20/20
Must hold a license issued by Tennessee Department of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Apprentice Occupational Education License, Professional Occupational Education License, Practitioner License.
The license position area must be in CTE (General).
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
The teacher will be expected to plan, organize, and present instruction that assist students in learning subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational success and social development. A set of rules and procedures should be established to handle routine behaviors in a way that does not interfere with student learning and that frequently monitors the behavior of all students stopping inappropriate behavior promptly and consistently, yet maintaining the dignity of the student. The teacher will be expected to provide students with meaningful instruction for and about pre-engineering as well as career explorations classes. The position is designed to prepare graduates as viable competitors in the pre-engineering industry along with introducing middle school students to the various career opportunities in CTE. The teacher will prepare students for pre-engineering related certifications and credentials. Opportunities to develop and apply leadership, social, civic, and pre-engineering skills are provided through the Career and Technical Student Organization for pre-engineering education. Integration of the pre-engineering program with appropriate academic concepts/courses is strongly encouraged.
