Job Title: Health Services Secretary
Credentials: None required for this position.
Education: High school diploma or GED;
Training or experience required: Minimum of two years with bookkeeping/accounting and computer experience using databases and spreadsheets. Minimum of 1 year working in a school system is preferred.
Site: Instructional Services Center
Reports to: Health Services Coordinator

Essential Job Functions:
Must have good communication skills and complete tasks regarding financial information for in-district and outside entities.
Order, distribute, and account for health supplies district wide.
Compile and maintain documents regarding confidential student health records.
Prepare correspondence; send out communications prepared by the coordinator.
Make telephone contacts with staff and the public on behalf of the coordinator; receive and convey messages for the coordinator and other department staff
Schedule classes, appointments, and meetings for a variety of health related programs and activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Successful performance of the job requires good customer service/people skills and to handle problems and provide information and technical assistance as requested. It requires complying with safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to staff or to students. It requires following school dress standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns for staff. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving are critical to the success of the position.Help manage the computerization of school district operations. Provide training and support to district staff in the use of administrative computer systems. Perform such tasks to the ultimate benefit of the educational program. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job. Since there may be several ways to solve a problem, an incumbent is free to choose the solution. This job requires frequent bending/stooping and occasional to frequent squatting/crouching, reaching above the shoulder, and pushing and pulling. There is occasional lifting up to 50 pounds to assist the lifting of chairs, classroom equipment and supplies. The incumbent must have the dexterity to operate keyboards, computers, copy machines, and medical equipment. Must be able to communicate with students, parents, faculty, staff and the medical community. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
