21st Century Afternoon Program Staff Job Description

 

Overview:

 

Teaching staff will facilitate the tutoring program, homework help, and STEAM curriculum for students in grades Pre-k to 5th grade. Staff will also assist with supervision of students eating dinner and bus dismissal during face to face sessions. 

 

Programming takes place Monday through Thursday from 3:50pm to 6:20pm. Staff hours are 3:50p.m to 6:20p.m. 


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure required paperwork (timesheets, lesson plans, student profile reports) are updated and submitted to the site facilitator

  • Responsible for supervising groups of students, providing discipline and serving as a role model

  • Displays patience and a positive attitude and knows ways to motivate reluctant learners

  • Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying

  • Attend all required meetings and trainings

  • Follow other job-related duties as assigned by the site facilitator

  • Demonstration professionalism and punctuality 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Virginia Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement

  • Strong classroom management and organization

  • Proven track record of personally achieving student success

  • Experience working with families with diverse backgrounds and cultures

  • Experience navigating relationships and partnerships successfully

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

Terms of Employment:

  • Part time pay per hour:  $26.40
