21st Century Afternoon Program Staff Job Description
Overview:
Teaching staff will facilitate the tutoring program, homework help, and STEAM curriculum for students in grades Pre-k to 5th grade. Staff will also assist with supervision of students eating dinner and bus dismissal during face to face sessions.
Programming takes place Monday through Thursday from 3:50pm to 6:20pm. Staff hours are 3:50p.m to 6:20p.m.
Responsibilities:
Ensure required paperwork (timesheets, lesson plans, student profile reports) are updated and submitted to the site facilitator
Responsible for supervising groups of students, providing discipline and serving as a role model
Displays patience and a positive attitude and knows ways to motivate reluctant learners
Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying
Attend all required meetings and trainings
Follow other job-related duties as assigned by the site facilitator
Demonstration professionalism and punctuality
Qualifications:
Must hold a Virginia Teaching License with the appropriate endorsement
Strong classroom management and organization
Proven track record of personally achieving student success
Experience working with families with diverse backgrounds and cultures
Experience navigating relationships and partnerships successfully
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Terms of Employment:
Part time pay per hour: $26.40
