Classroom Support Assistant
DEFINITION: Under close supervision, assists in ensuring student and staff safety, monitoring student activity, and providing technical assistance to students as necessary.

Provide technical assistance to students.
Monitors students learning activities and testing.
Ensures a healthy and safe environment for students.
Monitors students before and after school and during lunch.
Making copies, filing paperwork, and organizing materials for daily teachings.
Deliver supplies to classrooms.
Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge Federal and State rules, regulations and laws governing teaching in a school environment.
Knowledge of early childhood learning methods and techniques.
Skill in identifying misconduct or unauthorized visitors.
Skill in resolving conflict issues.
Skill in preparing, documenting and maintaining reports.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Skill in using technology to maintain accurate records.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skill in monitoring and assisting students.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and may be required to do some lifting. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions and infectious diseases.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent, Childcare or classroom experience; and on the job training as specified by the District. Must possess an Arizona driver license.
Preferred: First aid/CPR certified. Additional coursework or certifications
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: 5 Hourly Pay: $12.00 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 211
