PART-TIME SPECIAL EDUCATION
One to One Behavior modification AIDE – UMS
Hours will vary based upon need and student attendance
One hour daily guarantied
Up to 20 HOUR PER WEEK, NO BENEFITS
2020-2021 SCHOOL
 
District Expectations for Special Education Aides:
•             Provides instructional support to student with behavioral needs;

  • Consultation with Split Mt. Youth Center, Special Ed. Specialist, and School Psychologist for training in best practices
•             Assists in teaching daily living skills, social skills, leisure-time activity skills, specific self-help skills, community access and self-regulation;
•             Ability to lift 100 pounds;
•             Encourages and reinforces students, building self-image and helping them to be responsible;
•             Assists the teacher with student behavior management;
•             Provides direction to students, under direction of special education teacher;
•             Accompanies student to mainstream classes, supervising and assisting during class and times between classes;
•             Assists in supervising field trips and other off-campus activities;
•             Follow teacher’s program when working with students;
•             Track student progress;
•             Collect student behavioral data;
•             Consistently follow behavior system and classroom management program;
•             Maintain positive working relationships with students and staff;
•             Maintain confidentiality;
•             Other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
Education/Experience
•             High School Diploma or equivalent required;
•             Associate Degree, 48 semester hours of college credit or must have passed the Para-Pro Test or be willing to take and pass the Para-Pro Test immediately upon hire;
•             Successful experience working with children at risk;
•             Successful experience as an at risk teaching assistant.

* Provide Transcripts showing 48 semester hours of college credit or must have passed the Para-Pro Test or be willing to take and pass the Para-Pro Test immediately upon hire
