ED Special Education Teacher
Must hold a certificate issued by Arizona State Department of Education.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Computers, Elementary Teacher, Title I, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Special Education (General).
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th.
The certificate status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Toltec is a small, culturally diverse district and serves students in a close-knit community in sunny Arizona. The district is conveniently nestled halfway between Phoenix and Tucson, and is approximately 45 minutes from each of those cities.

ED Special Education teachers at Arizona City Elementary School and are responsible for teaching emotional coping skills to students with an IEP for an emotional disturbance. The emotional and social development of our children is paramount to everything we do. Teachers effectively manage the learning environment by preparing lesson plans, instructing students, and evaluating and monitoring students’ performance. Teachers must understand and appreciate diversity and teach in a culturally responsive manner. All teachers work collaboratively with a team to plan and improve instruction. We enjoy the benefit of a 4-day work week.
Salary Range The hiring range for external candidates will be $40,300 to $47,100, based on experience. Teachers will also be eligible to earn an additional amount from Classroom Site Fund 12 from sales tax generated by Prop. 301 for performance. This additional amount varies annually (SY 19-20 = $2,800).
