Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: English, Reading/Language Arts.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Description
Dual Immersion Academy is a small K-8 school located in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. We are one of only two 90/10 dual language schools in the valley. Our students are truly immersed in Spanish, our target language.
Because of our small size, our students, families, faculty, and staff enjoy a very close relationship that we work hard to cultivate and maintain.
Joining the faculty of "DIA" requires a teacher willing to put in the time and effort to help us reach our mission of creating bilingual, bi-literate, and bi-cultural students who are prepared to make a difference in the world.
Some of your duties will be to: -attend trainings and professional development sponsored and promoted by the school -participate in school-wide activities -participate in professional development meetings such as Team Meetings, PLCs, Faculty meetings, and IEP meetings -Prepare 180-day plans, unit plans, and daily lesson plans according to the Common Core State Standards -Coordinate with your grade level team to maximize learning -Manage the classroom effectively -Assess the students appropriately and plan for reteaching opportunities -Maintain active and open communications with parents and families
