REPORTS TO:

Executive Director

TEACHER DEVELOPMENT DUTIES:

Monitor teacher licensing, evaluations, observations Provide teacher support for pedagogy and classroom management Lead teacher recruiting, hiring, development and retention efforts New teacher training Coordinate teacher access to instructional supports and resources Oversee the schoolwide use of Mastery Connect Software Facilitate substitute teacher staffing and teacher creation of emergency sub plans Monitor Aspire usage to ensure teachers are maintaining current gradebooks

CURRICULUM DUTIES:

Plan for the improvement of school curriculum and curriculum development efforts. Ensure comprehensive articulation (K-9) of all school curriculum. Continuous evaluation of the quality and implementation of current curriculum. Supervise the development of curriculum materials to ensure school-wide consistency and quality. Collaborate with the Dean of Students and Families on the development and use of student performance portfolios and benchmark assessments. Facilitate annual content committee curriculum reviews and recommendations for board consideration. Serve as a technical adviser and consultant to school faculty regarding curriculum questions, training and implementation. Organize/direct staff professional development regarding school curriculum and associated instructional practice. Coordinate the school’s annual professional development calendar. Orient/facilitate training of new teachers Provide Executive Director with curriculum related budget recommendations. Ensure school compliance with state and federal curriculum/instruction requirements and reporting. Act as the school’s technical resource on state educational standards and ensure Renaissance curriculum and instructional practice is in complete alignment with state standards. Observe classroom instruction for the purpose of improving curriculum implementation and/or effectiveness. Attend all state Curriculum Director meetings/training. GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES Member of the RTI committee Chair team lead meetings Manage parent complaints regarding teacher and classroom issues (except behavior) Responsible for teacher professional development and maintenance of PD calendar Regularly attend grade level meetings Responsible for teacher recognition and motivation programs Monitor teacher dress code compliance Supervise the scheduling and content of parent teacher conferences Review and approve teacher disclosure documents Plan teacher orientation week in August Assist in conducting school tours Participate in the planning of back to school night Schedule and plan faculty meetings Supervise mentor coordinator Responsible for weekly school wide teacher email update
