Description


SUMMARY
Installs and repairs irrigation lines and systems, electrical controllers, hydraulic timers, evaporation/transportation gauges, and rain sensors.  Performs water audits.  Coordinates activities with other trades shops, building engineers, and contractors.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Four years of irrigation plumbing or related experience.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.  
Knowledge of Plumbing codes. 
Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the field.
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check (at employee’s expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and lift test.
Backflow and water audit certification required after hire. 
Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

1.0 FTE - 8 hours per day
12 month position

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.  
The hiring range for external candidates will be $16.07 per hour to $18.65 per hour, based on experience.
