K-8 Elementary Music Teacher
Music Teacher : The classroom teacher’s first responsibility is to provide a safe, positive and productive learning environment. Classroom teachers hold the primary responsibility for the delivery of the curriculum using creativity, innovation and discovery. They ensure student learning and growth through the use of formative and summative assessments, adjust their teaching and provide additional resources as needed.
Teachers will participate in professional development, Professional Learning Communities (PLC), conferences and other training to improve teaching methods and skills. Teachers will use CCID’s core values of creativity, innovation and discovery to provide students with project-based, place-based and inquiry-based learning. They will also collaborate in PLCs to create a curriculum that covers Utah State Standards through an Integrative STEM lens.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaches content, knowledge, and skills in music to K-8th grade students, utilizing courses of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities with a focus upon place based / project based integrated lessons.
• Designs music lessons that connect with students through meaningful application of the content using materials and methods based on 21st Century Skills to develop sequential assignments that guide and challenge students toward meeting the expected learning outcomes. • Organizes schedules and directs music performances, including transportation. • Maintains instrument bank, track instruments, coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance for instruments. • Provides for safe storage and proper use of equipment. Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to equipment as required. • Address the specific learning needs of students so they equitably access the rigor of the curriculum.
