Job Title: Secondary/Elementary Mental Health Specialist, Weber School District Mental Health Special Location: Junior High Schools and Elementary Schools in Weber School District

Job Type: Mental Health Specialist

Job Description: Positions have been declared open within the Weber School District for full-time Mental Health Specialists. These positions will require eight hours of work per day, five days every week, for nine months per year.

Description of Job Duties: Mental Health Specialists will work directly with school teams to provide mental health support to regular education K-9th grade students. They will focus on students with chronic absenteeism due to many social factors. They will also work to provide support to students associated with bullying/harassment, disruptive behavior, suicide/self-harm, violence/harm to others, drugs/alcohol/tobacco abuse, sexual deviance, and more. Additionally, Mental Health Specialists will provide individualized management and safety plans; coordinate support efforts with school personnel (administrators, teachers, counselors, behavior specialists/aides); facilitate training on mental health issues; provide recommendations and resources related to behavioral risk; and collaborate closely with community-based mental health agencies. Job Qualifications: An active license to provide mental health services is required. The following licenses will be accepted: Certified Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Associate Mental Health Counselor (AMHC), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and licensed Psychologist. Clinical supervision for CSW, AMHC, and AMFT licenses will be provided by a qualified and licensed clinician. Salary Range- $48,000 - $75,000 + Retirement & Benefits- Pay dependent on experience, degree, etc. Please note that funding for these positions is ongoing, and these positions are permanent additions to Weber School District.
