ASSISTANT DIRECTOR- ENTHEOS ACADEMY, MAGNA
Entheos Academy is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to be an Assistant Director for a 482 student, Kindergarten through eighth grade public charter school located in Magna, Utah.
Entheos Academy is a Service Learning school that uses the EL Education model to focus on student achievement in three areas: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character, and High-Quality Work. (http://eleducation.org/resources/el-dimensions-of-student-achievement-in-el-schools).
RESPONSIBILITIES: -Understand and become fully committed to the Entheos Mission and Values. -Become fully conversant in, and supportive of the EL Education model. -Help develop, implement, and evaluate behavioral intervention programs that address the needs of at-risk students. This includes helping develop a schoolwide PBIS system -Provide coaching on classroom management strategies to school personnel, in support of developing an effective schoolwide PBIS system. -Develops and administers disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies and state laws; receives referrals and confers with students, parents, teachers, community agencies, and law enforcement; responds to and resolves parent, student, and staff concerns and complaints; serves on discipline or expulsion panels as assigned. -Under the direction of the School Director, implement and enforce Entheos board policies, administrative rules and regulations. -Create and oversee student 504 plans. -Act as the LEA for Special Education meetings where necessary and help ensure compliance with all Special Education laws, paying particular attention to the LRBI. -Work collaboratively with the administrative team from both campuses to ensure unity of purpose and efforts to promote academic and character success for students. -Fully support and implement the school Work Plan, Entheos goals, initiatives, and programs. -Supervise and evaluate the performance of personnel, or coaching personnel as requested by the School Director. -In the absence of the School Director, assume the duties and responsibilities of the Director.
CANDIDATE QUALITIES: -Experience and success with working in the areas of student discipline, PBIS, restorative justice, and character building strategies. -Builds collaborative working relationships with staff, parents and community. -Is highly visible and involved in the school and community. -Strong desire to be of service. -Experience working with a diverse community, including many English Learner families, families who are economically challenged, and students who have special needs. -Has a background in the classroom and other administrative experiences. -Brings new ideas and is willing to listen respectfully to others’ opinions. -Willing to make difficult decisions when needed and follows through to implementation. -Has excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Outstanding integrity and work ethic. -Energetic and positive approach to responsibilities.
