The Instructional Guide at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning will provide kind, differentiated support to our teachers as they implement the Expeditionary Learning model and the research-based components of our curriculum. The Instructional Guide will also aid in credentialing associate teachers through the State of Utah's APPEL program. This support will include observing teachers and providing timely, specific feedback, modeling EL protocols and other teaching practices, co-planning and instructive co-teaching with multiple teachers throughout coaching cycles. The Instructional Guide’s efforts will be grounded in a deep respect for our teachers and the teaching profession, and candidates should have significant experience with the practices they share with our teachers, while continuously broadening their own knowledge of best practices through self-study, research and participation in professional development opportunities. The Instructional Guide will also offer support with curriculum development, and professional development.
