Basalt High School is seeking an experienced Social Studies Teacher for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond! 

This position will teach courses including Government, AP Government, and Economics. Any background in those area is desirable. Candidates must exhibit a passion for engaging instruction that is rooted in thoughtful standards based lesson planning.  He/She must be able to build relationships with a diverse student body and bring enthusiasm and relevance to the classroom. CDE licensure with an endorsement in secondary Social Studies (or a related CTE dicipline such as Economics/Finance) or the ability to obtain is required. Out-of-state applicants are welcomed.
 
In addition to teaching Social Studies, this teacher will be a Crew leader for a group of students over the course of the year.  As a Crew leader the teacher serves as a student advocate, acts as the primary contact point between parents and the school, creates meaningful relationships and experiences, and monitors and supports student progress both academically and socially.
