Site Technology Coordinator

Salary: $40,000-$45,000
Exempt: Yes

Supervisor’s Title: Director of Information Technology

Essential Functions

The Site Technology Coordinator is responsible for the day to day operation and support of all school technology.  Working hours are 7:30-4:00 M-F with several days and weeks off throughout the year.  This position reports to the Director of Information Technology and works closely with school site leadership.  Additionally, this position works on a larger IT team that is spread out across the State of Colorado.  Opportunities for specialization in technical areas available. 

Job Duties: (Note: The list is not considered inclusive of all duties; it focuses on the primary and most frequently recurring duties.) 

  • Troubleshoot technology issues and find solutions in a timely manner 

  • Work with staff to improve the technology at the school based on academic needs and organization initiatives 

  • Give recommendations and training to staff on how to use technology efficiently  

  • Communicate with IT team members about technical issues and resolutions 

  • Participate in IT related projects to enhance infrastructure and performance across the CEC network. 

  • Experience with IP addressing, subnetting, traffic shaping, and firewall rulesets 

  • Experience with routing protocols, site to site VPN, PoE, VOIP, and wireless networks 

  • Configure and troubleshoot endpoint devices, wireless access points and routers for intranet and internet access 

  • Experience running, terminating and testing ethernet cabling 

  • Assist and troubleshoot in all electronic standardized testing (NWEA, CMAS. Etc) 

  • Keep inventory of desktops, laptops and peripherals for technology use on campus 

  • Configure, maintain, and patch the servers on campus that handle Active Directory, DNS, virtualization and file servers. 

  • Troubleshoot and handle all printer and copier issues on campus 

  • Familiarity with imaging methods and best practices 


  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field or multiple years’ experience 

  • Excellent inter-personal, collaboration, and customer service skills 

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure 

  • Prior experience working in schools preferred 

License(s) or Certifications required or preferred

  • COMP TIA Network+, A+, Security+ preferred  

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

  • The ability to climb stairs 

  • The ability to stand for up to an hour at a time 

  • The ability to lift light objects 

  • Tolerate all kinds of weather (above 20°) 

  • Occasional lifting of heavier objects (up to 50 lbs.)

  • Continuous noise (such as phones, PA System, and conversations) 

Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel within Colorado to attend occasional meetings and to cover other school sites as needed, 3-5 times a year.
