Jordan School District Online Learning Math Teacher
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Algebra I, Algebra II, Calculus, Geometry, Math (General), Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Trigonometry, Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Mathematics III.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
Online teachers will be expected to 1) Teach online courses using the Canvas LMS. 2) Communicate regularly through the Canvas LMS and over the phone with parents and students. 3) Develop online course curricula to update existing courses and create new courses. 4) Supervise and assist students in a computer lab setting as they work on online courses. 5) Proctor final exams for students enrolled in online courses.
The classroom teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens. Teachers maintain a safe environment: establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues:motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge that will help them reach their potential and be prepared for higher levels of education and career readiness. Teachers differentiate curriculum and use effective research-based methods of instruction according to District and State Core Standards.
