Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Administrative/Supervisory (K-12) (Level 1), Administrative/Supervisory (K-12) (Level 2), Administrative/Supervisory (K-12) (Level 3).
The license position area must be in Assistant Principal.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active.

Working from the Utah Connections Academy office, the Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with the Principal. The Assistant Principal will help manage all of the site-based school operations. Additionally, this individual will work closely with key centralized service centers including School Support, Enrollment, Technical Support, Materials Management, Fulfillment, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Facilities Management. It is also anticipated that this individual will manage a range of special projects and duties, including all state-mandated protocols for high schools in the state of Utah.

Other key responsibilities include the following:

Manage the implementation of the proven Connections Academy operational protocols; Lead teachers and work collaboratively with Teacher Leaders in developing a health school culture that is aligned with the vision, mission, and values of UCA; Ensure the school meets the goals for overall school achievement and academic progress for students by tracking trends in student performance across all academic areas, including targeted instruction; Work with teachers to improve their teaching practice through coaching, professional development, modeling, and collaborative planning; and implement data-driven instruction using Universal Design template; Oversee staff professional development services; Facilitate communication between secondary teachers, Learning Coaches, and students; Support school administration in managing the school’s budget and various grants; Motivate and supervise secondary staff in pursuit of school goals; Support student accounting functions including attendance maintenance; Manage reconciliation between Connections Academy’s data systems and state and local student information systems; Provided local support for facilities acquisition and maintenance; Act as the human resources liaison for school staff in the areas of benefits, leave tracking and the maintenance of local files; Act as the technology liaison for teachers and administrative staff; Monitor regulatory compliance and support preparation for legislative and financial audits in collaboration with the Manager of Internal Audits; Monitor all enrollment requirements and communicate requirements to the Enrollment Department; Provide state testing support including logistics for scheduling, tracking participation and contracting for testing facilities; Support contracting for supplemental student services; Monitor and track all school-based assets; Support the Marketing Department with student outreach, marketing and public relations; Stay current on the state’s policies, procedures and legislation Be available to handle all emergencies; and All other duties as assigned.
