We are building a world class program, focused on programming and internet security. One of the Capstones of this program is that of Cyber Patriot.
Cyber Patriot is a program designed to teach young computer techs how to defend systems against hackers, and in so doing, they enter the gateway of the entire computer industry. To do this we will offer a robust course list of IT related classes, such as Servers, A+, etc, etc. In fact, these classes can be taught simultaneously using tremendous computer labs, lessons and support. You will focus on upper grades, though we are a 7-12 school, so some classes for highly motivated younger cadets will happen.
We serve 550 cadets, grades 7-12. Our program is college prep, recognizing that most of our cadets do not want to be officers in the military, though we serve honorably in various enlisted and technical fields, with distinction. Our current graduating class of 75 seniors has no less than 7 (seven) with Congressional Nominations to Service Academies (1 Merchant Marine, 1 Naval Academy, 2 West Point, 3 Air Force Academy). This number is unprecedented for high schools ten times our size, let alone the fact that we are a Title I school, with 45% of our cadets at or below the poverty level. We are doing great things.
On the technical side, the north Campus, Hill Field Academy has four Cyber Patriot Teams, the A-Team is currently ranked 7th in the nation, with over 2,200 teams. This position is for our south campus, though we expect great things from this team.
You need to be able to thrive in a computer classroom teaching these skills. If you are not certified to teach in Utah, so long as you can meet requirements, we can work with you on licensing. We prefer a certified, highly qualified teacher.
We are competitive with our salary, provide family health care benefits, dental, vision and a 403B Retirement plan. We will also provide strong support for a successful candidate that relocates for this position.
