Description

 Educational and Program Management   Train and evaluate teachers  Organize sufficient professional development for teachers Measure the implementation of the IB teaching (ie. Teacher evaluations) Track successful implementation of the academic program including objective measurements of teacher implementation and student assessments.  Modify academic program as necessary based on results  Classroom Management and Organization Train teachers in methods of classroom preparation and student behavior to enhance instruction as prescribed by charter’s curriculum and methods Train teachers and instructors on how to manage student behavior in agreement with the school’s code of conduct and related policies and programs  Ensure necessary and reasonable measures are taken to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Share responsibility during the school day for the supervision of students in all areas of the school, including pick-up and drop-off, recess, lunch, assemblies, field trips, and other responsibilities as assigned. Assist students with disabilities to encourage their access to full participation in the school’s regular programs Communication Establish rapport with parents, students, school staff, and board members   Create and maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community Communicate and assist in teacher communication with parents regarding student progress  Maintain communication with parents, staff, and other educational professionals to circulate professional research, ideas and information Supervisory Responsibilities Assist the Principal to oversee and assess teachers, instructors, aides, support personnel, special education and other staff Evaluate the effectiveness of outside service providers Oversee and supervise extracurricular activities and events Evaluation and Reporting Meet with parents as requested to discuss needs and progress of students. Use effective oral and written communication. Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics, and state and federal laws. Professionalism  Uphold and enforce board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules and regulations, and be supportive of such in your communications with students, parents, and the public at large. Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time.  Communicate the positive aspects of Charter to the public in word and deed. Work cooperatively with parents and teachers to strengthen the educational program for children. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with other staff members. Assist with overall school operations as necessary or assigned by supervisor. Attend and participate in all Charter professional development days and activities. Other Responsibilities Enrich job skills through professional development activities Research current and proposed instructional programs, materials, and methods  Stay abreast of and abide by state and charter regulations and policies for charter schools  Gather, manage, and file all reports, records, and documents required Assist in writing and updating academic program information as needed for grants, reports, and other documents Oversee the sports and activities programs and supervise events Provide leadership for coaches and directors as part of our after school programs Work with Student council to plan and organize events Communicate events and activities to the community Handle discipline issues that occur here at the school  Perform other duties as requested by Administration or as needs dictate.
