Carbon School District is seeking applications for a School Psychologist. This is a full time position with benefits.
The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychoeducational assessment of academic, social and behavioral areas of students in the district.
The School Psychologist will participate in district level meetings to help coordinate services and interventions for Special Education; coordinate psycho-educational assessments and interpret results for students and parents; participate in IEP conferences, team meetings and problem-solving staffing. Must have an understanding of special education laws and regulations and be familiar with the IEP process.
Will provide support to Special Education teachers, principals and regular education teachers in providing academic and behavior interventions to meet student goals. Work with teachers, parents and other school team members to develop functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans for students in grades Preschool-Grade 12.
The School Psychologist will help coordinate and identify students on the Autism Spectrum for educational purposes and participate on the district Autism Team. If not already certified, enrollment in an appropriate certification program (Special Education Evaluation Endorsement) would be a condition of employment.
