Special Education Secondary Teacher (Mild/Moderate, Transition)
The Secondary Transition teacher position focuses instruction on post-secondary preparedness, transition service implementation, and social skills instruction. The teacher will be working closely with the CTE Internship and School-to-Work programs.Instruction is directly aligned with the Utah State Core Standards and identified transition standards. A Special Education license and/or transition experience preferred; ARL/Emergency Licensure will be considered.
Essential Functions: Implements the assigned program of study. Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning. Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task. Develops and implements Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school policy. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. Meets professional responsibilities. Maintains and upgrades professional skills. Maintains professional work habits. Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. Adheres to the teacher code of conduct. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal, Behavior Services Coordinator, and the Regional Director Conduct transition assessments. Provide transition instruction. Draft annual transition plans.
