Special Education Teacher
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 3), Special Education (K-12+) (ARL).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Bonneville Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2020-21 school year. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration with other teachers and aides both in and out of the Special Education department.
A Special Education Teacher is responsible for creating a positive learning environment where students develop the skills to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, lifelong learners and productive citizens. Teachers will maintain a safe environment, establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues, motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge that will help them reach their potential and be prepared for higher levels of education and career readiness. They should be able to differentiate curriculum, provide specially designed instruction, and ensure compliance with state and federal law.
