The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.

Description

The Special Education Department has an opening for a Teacher Specialist who will have responsibility to work with elementary schools in facilitating compliance with IDEA requirements and supporting effective classroom management and instruction. Position requires a special education license and successful classroom teaching experience. Applicants must have a minimum of five years of teaching experience (or related field) and a Level 2 License. Candidates must have demonstrated competence in planning, developing and delivering professional development for adult learners. Teaming and interpersonal communication skills are critical in order to support and serve as a resource for parents, school staff and building administrators. Individual must have demonstrated competence implementing IDEA file compliance effective practices for classroom/behavior management, curriculum and instruction, coaching and ongoing progress monitoring procedures. Strong technology skills needed.
