The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

JOB TITLE: English Teacher - Center for Community Learning
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Community Learning
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under direction of the Director of Community Learning, plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community. Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities. Will teach English for grade 6 through grade 12.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Instructs students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations. -Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school. -Assigns lessons and corrects homework. -Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress. -Keep attendance records. -Maintain discipline in classroom. -Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems. -Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops. -Performs related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems. -Complies with school and school board policies and regulations. -Demonstrates professional growth. -Prompt and accurate with required records and reports. -Uses instructional and planning time effectively. -Assumes responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities. -Assumes responsibility for a neat, safe environment for students committed to his/her care. -Demonstrates knowledge of the subject being taught. -Uses out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support the instructional objectives.
