Under the Direction of the Head Director of Endeavor Hall and Head of Teachers, the Director of Special Education is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Special Education program at Endeavor Hall Charter school in accordance with the current Federal and State Special Education Laws.
Manage all Special Education State Reporting timelines to ensure data timeliness Attended all Special Education State Meeting to keep up with information and changes to ensure that all practices in the school are current Provide vision and direction to ensure continuous organizational development and improvement in the Special Education program Collaborates effectively with General Education and Special Education teachers, staff, families and the Endeavor Hall community for the purpose of planning, developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating education services and/or programs. Help determine Staffing levels with Head Director/Head of Teachers for school special education program for the purpose of providing services with fiscal efficiency. Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding developing special education issues, changes in the laws and case laws, and educational methods of educating students with disabilities, to ensure an excellent special education program. Serve as LEA for IEP meetings as needed Monitors Special Education teachers/staff IEP’s, Service minutes, and Data collection to ensure compliance Work with Finance Department to ensure fiscal responsibility with Special Education funding Manage small caseload, write IEP’s Complete progress reports and send out quarterly Teach and mentor students in class, small groups and one-on-one situations
