Work at a successful high school of grades 9-12 of 990 students in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
New special education classroom upgraded last year.

Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to student ability levels.  Work in life-skills unit with severe physically challenged students with 2 paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:  Must be fully certified or in alternative program in Texas at the high school level in the following academic core subjects: Special Education 9-12

FHS is on a 8 period traditional schedule

At least four years teaching experience preferred in Special Education Life-Skills classroom setting.

Stipend paid for academic UIL coaching (per event)
Special Educational Life-Skills stipend $1,750

FISD pays $235 a month towards TRS aenta Health Insurance

You can earn up to 5 local and 5 state days
We have affordable daycare for FISD employees and a sick leave pool.
You can qualify for a loan forgiveness through the state of Texas for teaching in a high need area. (certain rules apply)


Position is for 2020-21 school year.
