BASIC FUNCTION High school art teachers oversee basic, intermediate and advanced art must be able to teach Pottery. These courses may include basic drawing, painting, ceramics and other projects that allow participants to build a portfolio of work. High school art instructors might also teach art history lessons and critical thinking skills. • Teaching students in grades 9-12; • Using a variety of teaching strategies and learning tools to help different kinds of learners grasp what can be extremely challenging math concepts; • Being responsible for designing and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, monitoring student achievement, and maintaining a positive classroom environment; • Adhering to and supporting board policy, school guidelines, administrative rules and directives; • Collaborating and participating actively in the work of the Department on innovative curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment; • Attending department and faculty meetings as scheduled; • Actively participating in the life of the school community, which may include assuming additional out-of the classroom duty, such as advising a student club, joining a standing committee, etc.
